Mei Li is going to a festival! There is a yearly Festival of Flowers where Mei Li lives, when the inhabitants of the country gather all the flowers they can find, and then parade them on display for everyone to see. This is certainly the most beautiful – as well as the most fragrant – event in Mei Li’s region. And what do you think? The day of the festival, Mei Li quite accidentally stumbled upon some pink lilies – the flower everyone prizes the most! She plucked them up and went to the parade; and they put Mei Li in the very front! She led the entire ceremony and was so flushed with pride that she turned quite pink herself.
